BVU Partners with United Way of Central Maryland to Inspire Volunteerism

uwcm_logo.gifUnited Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) is dedicated to helping individuals and families who are vulnerable and at risk meet their emergency needs, stabilize their lives and ultimately achieve a better quality of life.  This work can’t be done without a tremendous number of local Impact Partners, the nonprofit organizations that receive competitive funding from UWCM to deliver a wide range of programs and services to the community.

UWCM’s mission is to mobilize the community to improve peoples’ lives, and that means giving Central Marylanders every opportunity to give, advocate, and volunteer in support of our most vulnerable neighbors.  We at BVU are excited to announce a new partnership with UWCM to promote volunteer opportunities with their city impact partners.
Starting this September, www.volunteercentral.net will include a new UWCM medallion on the main page and in the site’s advanced search engine.  This set of medallions allows visitors to quickly see a list of volunteer opportunities related to a particular interest area with just one click.  Now, anyone interested in exploring ways to serve with UWCM Impact Partners in the city will be able to do so in a split second!

Visit www.volunteercentral.net today, scroll down, and look for the United Way logo among the medallions.  Click to take a look at all the ways you can be of service by volunteering with the partners that are integral to the pursuit of UWCM’s mission.
In addition to this great opportunity to volunteer with United Way Impact Partners, did you know that United Way of Central Maryland has joined a nationwide effort to recruit 1 million readers, tutors and mentors? Learn more and pledge your support at www.liveunited.org/LUWvolunteer.
