Through its years of BVU membership, Ober|Kaler has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the community through the volunteer service of its employees. This year, through the partnership initiated by BVU's School & Business Partnership Program, the firm's employees will assist students with their homework and improve their reading skills.
Baltimore City Public Schools are struggling to create a valuable learning environment for students and they are in need of additional resources from the community. The business community has access to talent, skills and resources that are beneficial to K-12 education. Through the School and Business Partnership Program, BVU facilitates partnerships between these groups to advance the academic experience of students, create stronger relationships between community members and build an overall corporate culture of community involvement.
"The most important investment that businesses can make is in a local school. Strategic partnerships between a businesses and schools can shape the future of students as well as the community. We are thrilled to have connected the dedicated employees at Ober|Kaler with Steuart Hill students. We are certain that through this partnership the students will receive the resources they need to thrive in school." Brandi Monroe, BVU’s School & Business Partnerships Manager.
In the coming months, Ober|Kaler employees will be working with BVU to organize a supply drive to collect the books, computers, equipment, supplies and other materials necessary for the Dixon-O'Malley Media Center.
"More than anything, I hope this new and improved media center will show the students that they all have the potential to succeed, and that the outside community cares about their future." Brandi Monroe.
