BVU Business Members Caught on Video Doing Good

The Boston College Center has launched its first annual Corporate Citizenship Film Festival and two BVU business members: PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young are competing with 23 companies for a chance win. View these videos here.

“Since so much media focus has been on the negative, it’s easy to overlook the positive contributions business makes to society,” said Bradley K. Googins, executive director of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship. “We’ve launched this annual film festival to reveal another dimension of business to the public.”

The focus of the film festival is to highlight the different ways companies tell their corporate citizenship story through video. This type of communication has been increasingly linked to improving a company's reputation, positive branding and ultimately the bottom line. Each video is between 1 and 3 minutes in length and captures how a company is having a positive impact - typically in partnership with nonprofits customers and employees - on social and environmental challenges.

Companies entering their work in the Film Festival are: Accenture, Aetna, Allstate, Amway, AT&T, Bank of America, Best Buy, Campbell Soup Company, Coca-Cola, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, ExxonMobil, FedEx, Hitachi, Intel, Mars North America, McDonald’s, Microsoft, Northrop Grumman, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Pitney Bowes, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, UPS, Western Union and Whirlpool.

The winner of the Film Festival will be announced during a general session of the 2009 International Corporate Citizenship Conference on March 30 in San Francisco.
